"If you Fail to Plan, You Plan to Fail." Benjamin Franklin

Before they were even born, Richard Williams, father of tennis players Serena and Venus Williams, wrote a career plan in which he decided that his elder daughter, Venus would become #1 Woman Player in the world, and that Serena would be the greatest tennis player ever.

And several years later, this is exactly what happened!

His motto?

If Richard could write a plan this good that worked 20 years later...

Can't you write down a plan to get a better job in some cool autonomous tech startup?

Planning works.

I did the same kind of think back in January 1, 2018, and it worked for me too:

This was a tiny plan with:

  • 1 major goal (getting recruited as a self-driving car engineer)
  • A few minor goals or "baby steps" taking me there(write an article, get my diploma, finish a course, ...)

I'm not Richard Williams, but if I can tell you anything about goals setting and planning is that:

  • It works (when you decompose it into baby steps)
  • It's much better to have a plan than not have any
